Emsella for Erectile Dysfunction
Emsella stimulates the muscles of the pelvic floor to help improve symptoms of ED.
Emsella for Incontinence
Urinary incontinence, or the loss of bladder control, is a common and often embarrassing non-gender related problem.
Emsella In Montclair
Well In Montclair is an exclusive provider of the Emsella technology to our local community. This non-invasive treatment uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to contract the entire pelvic floor musculature, to rebuild muscles, improve the tone of the pelvic floor, reverse incontinence, and improve sexual function for men and women. Sessions are quick and you remain fully clothed while sitting on the Emsella chair. One 28-minute Emsella session induces thousands of supramaximal pelvic floor muscle contractions and is equivalent to approximately 12,000 Kegals.
Causes of Urinary Incontinence
A thorough consultation by the Well in Montclair team can help determine what is behind your incontinence. However, urinary incontinence can be caused by everyday habits, underlying medical conditions, or physical problems or changes, including:
-
Pregnancy. Hormonal changes and the increased weight of the fetus can lead to stress incontinence.
-
Childbirth. Vaginal delivery can weaken muscles needed for bladder control and damage nerves to the bladder and supportive tissue, leading to a dropped (prolapsed) pelvic floor. With prolapse, the bladder, uterus, rectum, or small intestine can get pushed down from the usual position and protrude into the vagina. Such protrusions may be associated with incontinence.
-
Elite Athletes and long-distance runners. Heavyweight lifters and marathon runners are at a higher risk of urinary stress incontinence due to the strains that these activities may put on the pelvic floor.
-
Changes with age. The musculature and connective tissue creates a hammock to support the viscera. The muscles provide active support, responding to changes in posture and dynamic motion. The connective tissue provides passive support. Changes over time may affect this system. As we age, there will be a gradual decrease in the tensile strength of the ligaments and atrophy of the musculature of the pelvic floor. The weakness of the pelvic floor may lead to diminished integrity of the pelvic floor, with a greater chance of leakage and organ prolapse.
-
Menopause. After menopause, women produce less estrogen, a hormone that helps keep the lining of the bladder and urethra healthy. Deterioration of these tissues can cause aggravation, leading to incontinence.
-
Enlarged prostate. Especially in older men, incontinence often stems from enlargement of the prostate gland, a condition known as benign prostatic hyperplasia.
-
Prostate cancer. In men, stress incontinence or urge incontinence can be associated with untreated prostate cancer. But more often, incontinence is a side effect of treatments for prostate cancer.
-
Obstruction. A tumor anywhere along your urinary tract can block the normal flow of urine, leading to overflow incontinence. Urinary stones — hard, stone-like masses that form in the bladder — sometimes cause urine leakage.
-
Neurological disorders. Multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, a stroke, a brain tumor or a spinal injury can interfere with nerve signals involved in bladder control, causing urinary incontinence.

Overview of Incontinence
Urinary incontinence, or the loss of bladder control, is a common and often embarrassing non-gender-related problem. The severity ranges from occasionally leaking urine when you cough or sneeze, to having an urge to urinate that is so sudden and strong you can not get to a toilet in time. Fecal incontinence, or the inability to control bowel movements, may be related to diarrhea or constipation that weakens the pelvic floor musculature, bowel dysfunction or constipation, neurological disorders or damage, sex involving the anal canal, and surgery.
The Emsella treats stress, urgency, and mixed incontinence. It improves the patency of the pelvic floor, increasing muscular strength overall. It will resolve leaking when you cough, sneeze, laugh, jump, run, or exercise, decrease your need for nightly visits to the bathroom, and improve your confidence and freedom.
Symptoms of Urinary Incontinence
Many people experience occasional, minor leaks of urine. Others may lose small to moderate amounts of urine more frequently. The types of urinary incontinence include:
-
Stress incontinence. Urine leaks when you exert pressure (stress) on your bladder by coughing, sneezing, laughing, exercising, or lifting something heavy. Not related to psychological stress.
-
Urge incontinence. You have a sudden, intense urge to urinate followed by an involuntary loss of urine. You may need to urinate often, including throughout the night.
-
Mixed incontinence. You experience more than one type of urinary incontinence. Most often this refers to a combination of stress and urgency incontinence
Overview of Erectile Dysfunction
Erectile Dysfunction (ED) is a very common medical condition affecting men. It is estimated that roughly one in three men are unable to achieve and maintain an erect penis throughout a sexual activity. The severity ranges, but ED becomes increasingly common with age.
The Emsella will give you ease in achieving an orgasm. Emsella stimulates the muscles of the pelvic floor to help improve blood flow to the area and will greatly improve the chance of naturally achieving an erection without the need for drug intervention.
Causes of Pelvic Floor Weakness
in Men & Women
Weak pelvic floor muscles are one of the largest causes of erectile dysfunction. Pelvic floor weakness can lead to sexual dysfunction in women and men. This is understandable since the pelvic floor muscles support the pelvic organs, including the bladder, rectum, uterus (women), and prostate (men).
It is estimated that roughly one in three men are unable to achieve and maintain an erect penis throughout a sexual activity. The severity ranges, but ED becomes increasingly common with age.
Many women struggle with sexual wellness, especially during and after menopause. Nearly a quarter of women say they no longer find sex pleasant. This may be related to vaginal dryness, atrophy or dyspareunia, pain during intercourse.
How Emsella Helps
Emsella uses high-intensity focused electromagnetic energy to contract the entire pelvic floor musculature. Stimulation of the pelvic floor in this way is designed to help both men and women increase their sexual pleasure and make it easier to achieve orgasm.
The Emsella for Women:
• Increases blood flow to the pelvic floor
• Triggers the production of new fibroblasts and collagen
• Increases sensitivity in the vagina, labia, and clitoris
• Tightens the vaginal canal
The Emsella or Men:
• Increases penile rigidity and hardness
• Improves the control and lengthens the time from initial stimulation to ejaculation
